Dette er en ny plass Autoclub Norge har fått i Slovenia og som vi gleder oss til å besøke litt senere!

Dette er jo en Campingplass og Hotel med kjempestort badeland m.m.

Štirn, an entrepreneurial wine trader, bought land close to the sandy river shore of the Sava not far from the centre of Ljubljana in 1929 and, in 1930, built the 'Pri Štirnu' Inn on it. Around it, he built wooden changing rooms, showers, a stable, bike store, boathouse and an additional bar. This is how Štirn's Venetian spa was born. He also arranged the beach of the river Sava with wooden decking, sunshades and diverse sports facilities. The Second World War halted the development of the bath which then started to deteriorate.

After the war had ended, he set up the Ježica motor camp, including a campsite, holiday chalets, bungalows, summer and winter pools with sauna and bowling alley.

In 2004, at the end of the denationalisation process, a wholesale product, marketing and physical renovation of the Ježica motor camp into the LJUBLJANA RESORT began. The modern Laguna Ljubljana city beach bath was built on the foundations of the former Ježica bath.

In years to come, we are to fix up the area outside the fence of the LJUBLJANA RESORT with the intention of acquiring additional communications and advertising space. Hotel facilities will be increased and additional parking spaces provided. We are going to renovate and modernise the Laguna Ljubljana sports centre. We are also to supplement our hospitality and meetings offer and to diversify the outdoor entertainment and recreational activities.

The LJUBLJANA RESORT HOTEL ***

Ljubljana Resort Hotel is conveniently situated near the highway, only 10 min walking distance (1,5 km) away from Arena Stožice, and 10 minutes away from the old city centre of Ljubljana. In addition to its nice location by the river, the resort is also famous for an excellent restaurant, and easy access to public transportation. Close to the hotel are many interesting cycling and hiking paths.

There are a total of 168 beds in 60 rooms (32 rooms with air-condition), all newly furnished with modern furniture, allowing for a comfortable and relaxed stay. The rooms are single, double and triple. Being a family friendly hotel, we also have bigger rooms available that can accommodate up to five people. One room is adapted for people with disabilities. All rooms feature cable TV, radio, telephone and mini bar, while the ground floor rooms also have balconies. The whole resort is covered by wireless internet. For those who would like to pamper themselves, a large massage bath has been installed in two rooms with king-size beds. Every bathroom comes with a shower, toilet, sink, bidet, hairdryer and radiator for drying towels.

Next to the hotel there is also a Fitness Centre, a top a la carte restaurant - Štern, and the Laguna Swimming Pools that feature two large hydro massage pools (1700m2), children’s playground and pool, and a nude beach with showers. Laguna has been voted the best outdoor swimming pools in

Mobile houses

[widgetThe mobile homes are located by the Sava River and are surrounded with leafy trees. You can choose to stay in the mobile homes between April and October. There are two rooms inside, each with two beds, a living space, which can also accommodate one extra person, a kitchen, CATV, phone, and a bathroom with a shower and separate WC. Each mobile home has a porch and a parking space.

The city centre is 5 km away, which will take you about 20 min with bicycles. Near-by is a bus station for the city buses. The new sports centre Stožice is 1,5 km away (15 min walking).

There is also a restaurant at our resort, where you can try out many different dishes, like lamb, roasted pig, and fresh fish (from spring to fall). You can also choose between a variety of excellent Slovene vines.

As our guest, you get a special discount on the tickets for the Laguna swimming pools (open only during the summer). It has been voted in the past eight years as the best summer swimming pools in the open in Slovenia. It spreads over 1.700m2, there are three swimming pools, a playground for children and lots of shade. There is also a nude beach for sunbathing and with separate showers. The pools are heated. At the resort is also one of the biggest fitness centres in Slovenija - Fitness Sokol Laguna, where you can also get yourself a massage or go to the sauna. Guests have free entrance.

Available are volleyball courts, near-by are also tennis courts. You can go fishing in the Sava River – you buy the fishing permits at the reception. Other activities include horseback ridding, and rafting, which is only 5 km away from us, and , if desired, we can also organize the transportation. There cycling paths are all around Ljubljana. Since last year there is also a new golf course only 7 minutes away with a car.

In 2014, Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, will celebrate its 2000th anniversary of the beggining of ancient Emona. The livelist part of the city is by the river Ljubljanica in the centre, especially during summer when many shows and concerts take place almost every night.
